2016 Spring Top Qingxin Oolong Tsui Luan
Unleash the energy
Cultivar: Qingxin (ruanzhi) Oolong
Harvested by hand: May 8th, 2016
Origin: Tsui Luan, 翠巒 (2100 m)
Process: light oxidation, rolled, dried .
The leaves are bright green. They produce a brew with a very concentrated yellow color. Shiny and transparent.
Lavender and flowery with notes of butter. Very fresh and bright.
It starts with a mellow note, but it soon turns very powerul. The aftertaste is thick, long, fresh and full of energy.
Conclusion: the Tsui Luan mountain is located near Lishan and its teas are often packaged as Lishan. However, according to its powerful chaqi, it feels much more like Da Yu Ling! A high mountain Oolong with this concentration level is also a good choice for aging...
I love the floral, fresh scent in the cup. The flavour is also floral and herbal (rather than sweet) and full of energy, even tingly in the mouth. Finally, a warm, lingering finish with a very pleasant bitter note. It’s that complex aftertaste that made me want to taste the tea again and again. It's addictive!
