2016 Spring Concubine Oolong from Feng Huang (Dong Ding)
Cultivar: Qingxin (Ruanzhi) Oolong
Origin: Feng Huang (Dong Ding), Taiwan
Elevation: 700 meters
Harvested by hand on May 16th, 2016
Process: Organic plantation, high oxidized, rolled and medium roasted.
The brew has a shiny dark orange color.
Dry: very ripe, sweet red fruits.
The smell of the brew is very fine with scents of sweet honey.
Brown sugar with a profound aftertaste. Excellent!
Conclusion: This concubine Oolong is similar to the others in my selection, but it's very different from most concubine Oolongs found in Taiwan. It doesn't emphasize high notes for the scents, but a very sweet and pleasant taste. It feels very mature and a great combination of high oxidation and deep, slow roasting.
