  1. View

The dry leaves are very small. There's a good mix of buds and small leaves of different colors reminding us of OB's other name, Wusi cha, tea with 5 colors.
The brew has a clear and bright orange color. This indicates a high, traditional oxidation level.

2. Scents

The dry scents are not very strong. There are are notes of ripe fruits and dry wood, but it's quite subdued, because the leaves have been dried well and because their scents are natural (beware of dry leaves that have a powerful smell!).

The fragrance in the cup is much more expressive. It is typical of those highest grades OB bitten by Jacobiasca formosana Paoli (jassids): a mix of honey and Fendi perfume scents. This smell is almost out of this world, because it's so amazingly enticing and pure!

3. Taste

The tea is very sweet and deep. Its tannins linger on the tongue, reminding us it's freshly made and will continue to improve as its taste mellows with time.

Conclusion: This OB comes close to perfection in terms of leaf and brew qualities. It comes from an organic plantation where trees have space to grow naturally. It is made with Qingxin Dapang, the most suitable cultivar for OB. It is harvested in late June, the best season for OB. It comes from Hsin Chu county, from a farmer that specializes in OB. These leaves have an exceptional high percentage of jassid bites, which contribute to its special smell. And last but not least, this OB has been processed in a traditional way, meaning it has been well dried (slightly roasted): this may slightly reduce the fresh scents, but it improves its deep and sweet taste, and it allows this tea to improve with time. With all these requirements fulfilled, it's no wonder that this tea tastes so amazing. It's beyond tea!
