Created in 1981 at the Taiwan Tea Experiment Station (TTES), the Jinxuan cultivar is also known in Taiwan as TTES No. 12. Dr. Wu Zhenduo created this tea to help farmers achieve higher yields and to answer the increasing demand for light, fragrant Oolong tea. He named it Jinxuan, the name of his grandmother.


Cold weather has delayed this year's harvest by 2 good weeks. With more rest and a slow growth, this year's spring harvest is particularly concentrated with flavors. This batch has a slightly higher oxidation than high mountain Jinxuan. Therefore, its brew color is yellow and the fragrances are more milky than flowery. The taste is mellow with a light and fresh lingering sweetness.
The natural, milky and flowery fragrance is soft and sweet. This is a wonderful, well balanced Oolong for daily enjoyment.
