Yixing zisha wood log teapot
The volume of the teapot is 425 ml (42.5 cl)
It weighs 368 grams. This rather big Yixing zisha teapot is a reproduction of a classic design dating back to the 19th century and that can be seen here. The sound of the cover on the teapot indicates a medium firing temperature. However, it does make a sound of sizzle, like very small bubbles, when hot water is poured inside. This and the fact that the surface of the clay is very smooth indicates a clay of very pure quality.
This teapot has been used in the past and has been well cleaned. It dates back to the 1980s.
This teapot has a flat 7 small holes filter. The flow of tea from the teapot is good. The flat cover doesn't fit perfectly on the teapot. It's handmade and some 30 years ago.
The plum blossoms are made with duanni clay. They are a Chinese symbol for beauty that resists and even thrives in winter (at an old age).
It performs with Baozhongs, roasted Oolongs, Wuyis or aged sheng puerh.
It has 2 chops: 1 under the pot (China Yixing) and 1 under the cover.
