2016 Spring Wild red tea from Taiwan
Wild is the tea
Harvested by hand: April 10th, 2016
Origin: A forest near Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan
Process: fully oxidized.
The leaves are very dark and show few signs of buds. This is consistent with the wild nature of these tea trees. Left alone, without pruning, the leaves produced by tea trees become bigger and have few buds. The brew has a very dark color (good concentration). At the same time, its color looks transparent and shiny.
Red, ripe fruits and peppermint. The fragrance of the brew is more powerful than that of the dry leaves.
The profile is somehow similar to Hong Yu red tea, but much better! Less astringency, wonderful purity and an incredible long, refined and powerful aftertaste that goes on to infinity!! Tip: I recommend a medium to long brewing time with not too many leaves. It's not necessary to brew this tea too powerful to experience its amazing character. The supply of this tea is limited to less than 20 kg per year.
