Cultivar: qingxin (ruanzhi) Oolong
Harvested: October 30th, 2016
Origin: Changshu Hu, AliShan (1400 m)
Process: Insect bitten leaves with low oxidation and light, slow roast.

1. Sight
The dry leaves are rolled and have dark green/orange color!

The brew is shiny and clear. The color is orange.

2. Fragrances.
The dry scents are deep and sweet: pumpkin and ripe fruits.

The brew's scents contain honey scents from insect bites and ripe fall fruit fragrances.

3. Taste
Powerful and sweet. This tea produces a sweet coating in the whole mouth. It lingers in a very deep and slowly building aftertaste. Salivation occurs at the back of the mouth.

While insect damage to tea leaves is not unusual in Taiwan, it is rare at this altitude (because of the cooler mountain climate). This winter's warmer climate has given us this lighter Zhuo Yan Oolong from Alishan. It's very interesting tasting it for those who love very pure and powerful aromas from high mountain plantations.
