Dehua (Fujian) is well know for its yabai, ivory white, porcelain. During the 18th Century, Dehua exported a lot of its finest porcelain to Europe's nobility. In France, the color of Dehua porcelain became known as 'Blanc de Chine' (white from China).
The natural yellowish hue adds a warmer feeling to roasted Oolongs and old Oolong. This porcelain retains the tea's fragrance particularly well.
The shape resembles that of a carved rhinoceros horn. The touch of the unglazed porcelain clay under the foot is very soft and smooth.
These cups are 20 years+ old.
