Cultivar: Jade (Tsui Yu), #13
Harvested on: April 7th, 2025
Origin: Pinglin, Wenshan region.
Video of a Baozhong plantation: click here.
Process: Lightly oxidized Baozhong, twisted, no stems, well dried. See here.
1. View
The dry leaves are large, dark green. The open leaves are quite dark green also. They show some oxidation signs on the edges. The brew has a good transparency and a yellow color.
2. Scents
The dry scents have some light scents of wood and forest with its various green plants. The brew has high notes of flowers that mingle with deep subtropical forest fragrances. It's intense and refined. The open leaves have dark grassy smell that is typical of Tsui Yu.
3. Taste
The taste is smooth. The aftertaste is light and fresh. A classic Wenshan Baozhong!
Conclusion: This type of Baozhong is, for me, the most typical. It echoes the subtropical scents of the Wenshan hills in spring.
