The shape of this teapot is called 梨形 (Lí xíng) or pear shaped. The clay is modern zhuni, a hard red clay with little porosity. It was fired at a high temperature: the cover produces a high pitched sound when it touches the body of the teapot.

The details of this beautiful teapot show very good craftsmanship. The teapot is very thin (= Baotai). The spout is curved like a beautiful leg. The knob is easy to grab. The handle looks like a human ear. The smooth water flow can be slowed/stopped by pressing on the knob.

This teapot was made about 10 years ago and is in good condition. It has a single hole.

It performs best with high mountain Oolongs. The scents of the tea come out strong and bright.

The seal under the teapot mentions Jingxi, the former namer of Yixing.
