This is a portion of a poem by Sung dynasty writer Su Dongpo (1037-1101).

It describes the peaceful atmosphere as the tea preparation begins: the charcoal is red and the snow is being melted in order to use this pure water to make tea.

Hóng bèi qiǎn ōu xīn huǒ huó, lóng tuán xiǎo niǎn dòu qíng chuāng"

A retired Chinese teacher surnamed 'Ping An' (Haromious Tranquility) wrote this calligraphy. The style of his brush strokes is semi-cursive. His calligraphies adorn countless walls in Taiwan and China.
