Process: Light oxidized and rolled Oolong, well dried.

1. View

The dry leaves look a little bit more oxidized than usual. The brew is indeed a little darker yellow. High concentration. The open leaves are big and healthy.

2. Scents

Buttery and more fruit like when brewed in competition mode.

3. Taste

Qilai shan has the properties you'd expect from a top High Mountain Oolong. The sweetness and power are very good. It has an added rock dryness which adds to the aftertaste. It's very powerful, maybe even more than Da Yu Ling.

Conclusion: Thanks to its concentration and good drying, this is a high mountain Oolong that is a good candidate for aging and improving. Another way to refine its aromas is to use a zhuni teapot to brew it. In this tasting it tasted almost like Da Yu Ling in a gaiwan!
