Cultivar: Qingxin Oolong

Harvested by hand: October 5th, 2020

Origin: Da Yu Ling (2580 m), 104 K.

Process: Light oxidized and rolled Oolong

1. View

The dry leaves are dark green and of varied sizes. The brew has great clarity and transparency with a very fresh yellow/green color. The open leaves are very big compared to the buds. They are thick, but flexible.

2. Scents

The dry leaves smell like fine, fresh spring flowers. The brew's fragrances are very refined and flowery, but not particularly strong.

3. Taste

The sweetness and aftertaste of this high mountain Oolong is exceptional! Even brewed in competition mode (3 gr for 6 minutes), this tea tastes mellow and sweet. It has a very long aftertaste that is further accentuated by a mineral taste.

Conclusion: I'm glad to be able to source this highest Oolong peak for a second time. It will be interesting to compare it more closely to the spring version to taste the impact of the season on such leaves. It only produces 60 kg of Oolong per season (in spring and winter).
