Cultivar: Qingxin Oolong
Harvested by hand: on May 11th, 2026
Origin: Long Feng Xia, Shan Lin Xi (1750 m)
Process: Lightly oxidized, rolled Oolong, well dried.
1. View
Medium size dry leaves of fresh green hues. The brew has a light-yellow hue and an excellent transparency. The leaves are green with very little oxidation and are quite tender. The harvest lasted from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM with sunshine until noon and mist after (but no rain).
2. Scents
The dry scents are very fresh and intoxicating. The brew is extremely flowery and refined. With its dry lavender scents, it comes close to Lishan! Even cold, the green fragrances persist.
3. Taste
The characteristic of the Long Feng Xia is its sweetness. It feels very mellow, but it also has a long aftertaste.
Conclusion: this high mountain Oolong from Shan Lin Xi is top quality in terms of flowery fragrances and sweet, long taste. This year, for my second selection, I have visited the farm on the day of the harvest. Unfortunately, due to the 4 hours trip from Taipei, I arrived in the early afternoon, which is why my pictures show mist and white clouds. Luckily, most of the harvest happened during the morning hours, when the sun was shining. I also checked the elevation on an altimeter App and was favorably surprised that the plantation reaches 1750 meter of altitude. No wonder it feels so much like Lishan in terms of freshness and finesse! What’s more, the 2026 drought reduced production by a third, but I still managed to secure a larger quantity than in 2025, as tea from this plantation has been a real success.
