Cultivar: Qingxin Oolong
Harvested by hand: May 17th, 2021
Origin: Da Yu Ling (2580 m), 104 K.
Process: Light oxidized and rolled Oolong
1. View
The dry leaves are dark green and of varied sizes. The brew has great clarity and transparency with a very fresh yellow/green color. The open leaves are very big compared to the buds. They are thick, but flexible.
2. Scents
The dry leaves smell like fine, fresh spring flowers. In the brew, there are some peach notes, but these are less dominant than very fine and evanescent fresh fragrances.
3. Taste
The energy, the Cha Qi of this Oolong is amazing! It has a very long aftertaste that is further accentuated by a mineral taste.
Conclusion: Due to this spring's drought, the yield of this plantation (the highest in Taiwan) has decreased by 40% compared to 2020! But the quality of this harvest is more than outstanding.
