Cultivar: Qingxin Oolong
Harvested: by hand on May 3rd, 2022. Third day of this plantation's harvest.
Origin: Yang Keng section, Shan Lin Xi (1300 m)
Process: Lightly oxidized, rolled Oolong, dried.
1. The view
The dry leaves are dark green colors. The brew has a very good golden transparency. The open leaves are dark green/blue and they have few signs of oxidation.
2. The scents
This batch was harvested on a cooler day and its scents are particularly light and fresh. With lavender and vetiver, the fragrances resemble those of Lishan rather than of ShanLinXi! We find the same scents with more intensity in the brew.
3. The taste
The taste is sweet, creamy and elegant. It coats the palate, triggers salivation and prolongs the aftertaste with a pleasant sweet and lightly astringent taste.
Conclusion: It took 3 days to harvest this tea plantation this year (May 1st, 2nd and 3rd). The first day was OK, then the second day, rain and cold weather turned the tea bitter. On day #3, the cooler conditions and a shorter harvest (only in the morning, before the afternoon rain), produced this outstanding batch (but also the smallest)!
